6 things to know about the Dayton Development Coalition

The publicly and privately funded Dayton Development Coalition is a major regional player economic development. Here are six things to know about it:

1. It is the western representative of JobsOhio, the private, non-profit corporation that is the state’s privatized economic development arm.

2. Jeff Hoagland has been president and chief executive officer of the coalition since 2010. He is a former Vandalia city manager.

3. The owners of a company funded by the coalition this week alleged a conflict of interest on the part of a coalition executive, allegations the coalition denied.

4. About $64.5 million in taxpayer dollars went to the coalition and its two affiliates between 2004-2014 and more since then. Tallies since 2014 are not yet available from the coalition.
