Warren County selected to host 2018 world frisbee tournament

Lebanon will host most or all of the 2018 world championship ultimate frisbee club matches.

The World Flying Disc Federation selected Warren County as host for the tournament.

More than 3,000 athletes from over 50 countries are expected to participate in the tournament, scheduled to take place from July 14 - 21, 2018.

All of the matches leading up to the finals will be held at the Lebanon Sports Complex. Local leaders are still determining the location of the championship match.

“This tournament is projected to be among the largest sporting events ever hosted in the region and will be a significant source of economic impact for Warren County,” Ben Huffman, Director of Sports Marketing for the Warren County Convention & Visitors Bureau (WCCVB), said in a press release.

Huffman estimated the tournament would generate $3 million in economic impact for Warren County and account for 10,000 room nights at local hotels and bed & breakfasts.

Warren County was named host of the tournament following a selection process.
