Power outages steadily decrease across region after winter storm power losses


UPDATE @ 5:25 a.m.

Only 31 outages are reported in Montgomery County, per the DP&L outage map.

Butler County remains at 104 reported outages, according to the Duke Energy website.

UPDATE @ 1:05 a.m: 

Power outages are constantly decreasing across the region with Montgomery County reporting the largest number at 334, according to Dayton Power & Light.

Butler County have only 104, per Duke Energy’s online outage map.

Ohio Edison still do not have any outages to report for Clark and Champaign counties. 

UPDATE @ 11:15 p.m.

The largest number of power outages was 312 in Butler County, according to Duke Energy’s online outage map.

Across the region, there are about 600 outages. Earlier in the night, there were as many as 1,400 who lost power.

As of 11:20 p.m., Dayton Power & Light reported 338 outages, including 202 in Montgomery County; 90 in Logan County; two each in Darke, Greene, Miami and Preble counties; and one each in Champaign and Shelby counties.

Duke Energy also reported six outages in Warren County.

Ohio Edison did not have outages to report for Clark and Champaign counties.

UPDATE @ 8 p.m.

There are no widespread power losses this evening, except for Butler County, which accounts for nearly 600 of the 1,400 outages stretched across the entire region.

Shelby County had 793 outages at 6 p.m., but that number was down to just one outage as of 8 p.m., according to Dayton Power & Light’s online outage map.

DP&L, as of 8 p.m., reports the following outages by county: Clark: 164; Darke 159; Logan 91; Preble 61; Champaign 3; Miami 2; and one each for Greene, Shelby and Warren counties.

Duke Energy reported 579 outages for Butler County and 104 for Warren County, as of 8 p.m.

Ohio Edison reported six outages for Clark County.

FIRST REPORT

More than 1,200 power outages are reported this evening as a result of the winter storm.

As of 6 p.m., Shelby County has the most outages reported with 793, followed by 231 in Preble County, according to the Dayton Power & Light outage map.

DP&L also reports the following outages by county, as of 6 p.m.: Montgomery: 67 and Mercer: 48.

Duke Energy reports 65 outages in Warren County and 57 in Butler County, as of 6 p.m.

According to Ohio Edison, as of 6 p.m. there were 28 outages reported in Clark County.
