Xenia Police Department promotes three, hires one


The city of Xenia Police Department has promoted three officers and hired another. There are now 43 sworn positions in the police department.

Chris Stutes was promoted from sergeant to captain and will oversee administrative services. Stutes has 21 years of service with the division. 

Officers Stephen Shaw and Matthew Cvitkovich were promoted from detectives to sergeants and will be assigned as patrol officer supervisors. Between the two officers, they share 30 years of police experience.

Ryan Linnell has been hired in as a police officer and will be assigned to field training. Linnell comes to the Xenia Police Department after having spent time working with the Grandview Police Department. 

The swearing-in ceremony was held earlier this month in Xenia Municipal Court.
