Patients who are eligible to get medical marijuana will be limited to how much they can get at a time and how they are able to use it.
State regulators are still determining how much a patient can have, but they will be able to obtain a 90-day supply once the program is operational in September 2018.
The law does not allow for smoking or combustion of marijuana and can lead to illegal possession charges, however patients can buy it in plant form if they promise not to smoke it when they get home.
Instead patients will need to eat it or inhale it using a vaporizer, and the law allows edibles, tinctures, oils and patches.
