Milano’s owner eyeing former Qdoba space on Brown Street

The corporate parent of Dayton-area Milano’s restaurants this week applied for a liquor license for the space at 1822 Brown St. that formerly housed Qdoba Mexican Grill and, before that, J. Gumbo’s, according to the Ohio Department of Commerce Division of Liquor Control.

The space is nearly adjacent to the existing Milano’s Pizza, Subs & Taps at 1834 Brown St., separated only by a SuperCuts shop.

“We are looking at a few options in that space,” John Slaughenhaupt, owner of Milano’s, told this news outlet this morning. But no decisions have been made, Slaughenhaupt said.

The license application, if approved, would allow a pub or restaurant to serve beer, wine and spirits until 2:30 a.m. in the former Qdoba space.

Milano’s operates three Dayton-area locations — on Brown Street in Dayton, on Springboro Pike (Ohio 741) in Miami Twp., and on North Fairfield Road in Beavercreek — as well as one location on Voice of America Centre Drive in West Chester.
