5 multi-million dollar projects changing the face of Austin Boulevard and I-75

The area near the Austin Boulevard interchange continues to develop, with a handful of multi-million dollar developments opening in the past several months.

While growth is expected to continue with the announcement of Austin Landing South and other large tracts of land yet to be developed, the following are five significant projects completed in recent months:

Staybridge Suites: This $12 million, 108-room extended stay hotel opened late this spring at Austin Landing in Miami Twp. The four-story hotel on 2.5 acres at Austin Landing caters to corporate employers, featuring one- and two-bedroom suites, as well as studio units, and includes a kitchen area.

FedEx Ground site: The $20 million FedEx Ground South Dayton Facility in Miami Twp. opened in July on Byers Road, about a half mile from the interchange. The site opened with about 100 employees and occupies 249,506 square feet on 32 acres.

Austin Park Apartments: A $20 million Miami Twp. project two years in the making, the 226-unit upscale complex off Ohio 741 next to Waldruhe Park just north of Austin Landing opened late this summer. Lease rates range from $730 a month to $1,665 a month, officials said.

The area's latest movie theater: The first Ohio site for Cinépolis USA – a $12 million, 12-screen upscale movie theatre - opened last month at Austin Landing. The theater seats 1,560 in luxury recliners and includes a menu of gourmet snacks, and beverages – including signature cocktails – ranging in price from $1 to $47.

United Grinding new headquarters: The Miamisburg manufacturer recently opened its $13 million North American headquarters just northwest of the interchange. The company's move from its Earl Boulevard brings 140 jobs closer to Interstate 75, including about 40 that consolidates operations from Virginia on the 15-acre site.
