An older couple with two grandchildren were home at the time. They were not injured, but five of their seven dogs died in the fire.
The cause is still under investigation, but the occupants said they have had electrical issues in one room there.
Firefighters said fighting the fire is difficult due to a multi-layered roof and a faraway fire hydrant.
The home is expected to be a total loss. The family said it did not have insurance, but the Red Cross has been out to help.
