New restaurant/pub in the works in Springboro

A Celtic-themed pub to be called The Highland Stag is in the works at 75 N. Main St. in downtown Springboro.

The space previously held SG@75 Gastropub, formerly called the Soooo Good Bar & Grill. The pub closed in September 2016 after a three-and-a-half-year run.

The new restaurant and bar will offer traditional Celtic fare with a contemporary, but authentic, flair, said Brent Moore of Moore & Associates, who is serving as consultant and spokesman for the new pub.

Plans call for The Highland Stag to open this spring. It will seat approximately 95 inside and about 40 more on a patio, and when fully up and running, will serve lunch and dinner Tuesday through Sunday, Moore told this news outlet.

The menu will include items such as rack of lamb, shepherd’s pie, and braised short ribs, Moore said in a release. It will offer a wide range of traditional Celtic draft beverages, along with craft beers from local breweries, a robust wine list, and a deep selection of Scotch and Irish whiskeys. Plans call for hosting special events such as Scotch and Whiskey dinners, tap takeovers and wine events.
