Centerville planners approve preliminary plans for Lofts development



UPDATE @ 9:25 p.m.: Centerville’s planning commission approved both the preliminary development plans for a residential complex as well as applications for rezoning.

The Loft, the development being proposed by The Edge Group, includes 444 multi-family residential units and a community center on 38.7 acres.

Most of the property, located along Chardonnay Drive, north of Alex Bell Road and east of Loop Road, is vacant and has not been developed since the 1990s.

In addition to the units, the development would also include 10 existing condominiums along Chardonnay Drive.

The cost of the development and potential price of the units were not made available.

The plans submitted to the commission must now be approved by Centerville City Council.

FIRST REPORT

Centerville’s planning commission is scheduled to meet tonight to discuss preliminary development plans to bring a new apartment complex to the city.

The proposed development, called The Loft, includes 452 apartment units and a community center on 33.5 acres, along Chardonnay Drive, north of Alex Bell Road and east of Loop Road.

The development is proposed by Ryan Pearson of The Edge Group.

The meeting will be held at 7 tonight in council chambers in the Centerville Municipal Building, 100 W. Spring Valley Road.
