Woman killed by train in Dayton was suicide, coroner’s office suggests



According to the coroner’s office, the victim was Jill Lairmore.

An autopsy has been performed but there is no information available as to a preliminary cause of death.

UPDATE @11:16 p.m. (Nov. 29): Dayton police are confirming that a woman was struck and killed by a freight train. They do not know her age or why she was walking on the tracks.

The coroner’s investigator has taken the remains to the coroner’s office.

It’s uncertain how long the crossing gates at North Irwin Street, just south of East Monument Avenue, will be down.

UPDATE @ 10:49 p.m.: A Montgomery County coroner’s investigator just arrived. We’re hearing the victim is a woman.

FIRST REPORT

Dayton police have been dispatched on a report of a person hit by a freight train on North Irwin Street, near East Monument Avenue.

The incident was dispatched at 9:35 p.m. as a traffic pedestrian crash. The condition of the victim has not been determined.
