Avoid being a crime victim
Park in a well-lighted area.
Pay attention to surroundings.
Keep car doors locked and windows up.
Lock presents and valuables in your vehicle’s trunk.
For women, carry purse cross-body style.
For men, keep wallet in inside jacket pocket rather than back pants pocket.
It’s best to pay with a credit or debit card. If you prefer to use cash, don’t display large sums.
Have your car keys ready when nearing your vehicle.
Make sure you’re not being followed.
Make sure no one is in your car when you get there.
