New Chick-fil-A restaurant in Kettering now hiring

A banner at the restaurant at East Stroop and Shroyer roads invites prospective employees to apply online at pleaseapplyonline.com/cfakettering. Applicants also can visit a hiring trailer at the site at 480 E. Stroop Road between 9 a.m. and noon and between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, Chick-fil-A spokeswoman Brenda Morrow said this morning.

At least 80 people, and perhaps as many as 100, will be hired, and franchise owner Matt Eller is filling both part-time and full-time positions, including management, according to a Chick-fil-A release.

“At Chick-fil-A, we always keep our eyes out for applicants with a coachable spirit and a genuine desire to serve others,” the job-application web site says. “Many of our restaurant owners began their careers with Chick-fil-A as high school team members. We are committed to providing the same opportunities to our team members. No work experience necessary.”

The 4,988-square-foot restaurant will seat 124 inside and will include a double drive-through windows, Kelly Casto, asset manager of CASTO, the Columbus-based real estate development firm that co-owns Town & Country, told this news outlet in August.

The Chick-fil-A restaurant chain operates a half-dozen locations in the Dayton region, including a restaurant that opened last year in the Cornerstone of Centerville just south of Kettering and one on Miamisburg-Centerville Road (Ohio 725) in Washington Twp, which recently completed a $1 million makeover.

Dayton’s southern suburbs appear to have become ground zero in the chicken wars. Last week, Mike’s Nashville Hot opened its first Dayton-area restaurant in the Austin Landing development in Miami Twp., and a second location is on the way in Centerville. Also last week, Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers told this news outlet it will enter the Dayton market in the coming months with at least two, and perhaps as many as four, new locations, starting on Ohio 725 in Washington Twp. and on North Fairfield Road in Beavercreek. And Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen is gearing up to more than double its footprint in the Dayton area, starting with a new restaurant in Springboro, its franchise owner told us earlier this year.
