TODAY’S MODERATOR: A good month for small biz

Here’s some interesting and uplifting economic news — February was a good month for small business.

Our staff writer Eric Schwartzberg reports: "A total of 10,204 new entities filed to do business in Ohio during February, an increase of 803 entities when compared to February 2016, according to Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted. That makes February the second best month for new businesses in Ohio history, just behind March 2016.

"It has also been 16 months since Husted's administration reduced the cost of starting and maintaining a business in Ohio by 21 percent. As of February 2017, Ohio businesses have saved over $3.3 million, according to his office. Based off of record-breaking months for both January and February, Ohio is already on track to have another record number of businesses filed in 2017," Schwartzberg reports.

The economy still seems to be humming merrily along at a fairly steady pace — are business owners and entrepreneaurs starting to feel more confident? What do you think? And have you started a business? How’s it going?
