3 other high-profile shootings in the Dayton mall area

The Dayton Mall area has been the scene of high-profile crimes in recent years. Here are three involving shootings:

-Dec. 20, 2014: A 16-year-old Middletown student was shot and killed outside the Dayton Mall while trying to rob a concealed-carry permit holder of his newly purchased athletic shoes. Jawaad A. Jabbar was shot at about 10 a.m. near the mall's hhgregg entrance. The shooter and another adult male came out of the mall and were approached by three male juveniles, including Jabbar.

June 11, 2014: A 41-year-old Los Angeles man was fatally shot outside P.F. Chang's restaurant. Jermaine D. Boone, 41, of Los Angeles, died of multiple gunshot wounds at about 8:15 p.m. in the parking lot of the Chinese restaurant at 2626 Miamisburg-Centerville Road near the Dayton Mall. A companion, Damon Thompson, 45, of Atlanta, was shot in the arm. He was treated and released from the hospital.

April 4, 2013: An FBI drug investigation ended in a shootout and the death of a 20-year-old Dayton man at the Beverage Palace at 8980 Kingsridge Drive. Jermaine C. Coleman Jr., 20, of Dayton, was fatally wounded after he drove an Impala in reverse and rammed into a special agent's vehicle and accelerated forward to ram into another police vehicle, according to documents.
