Railroad work causing West Carrollton road closure

Part of Alex Road in West Carrollton is set to close starting Monday as Norfolk Southern Railroad Co. works on a crossing.

The closing through May 12 involves Alex south of Dixie Drive. Detour signs routes will be posted. For drivers heading northbound on Alex, all vehicles can use Kimberly Lane to access Alex-Bell Road, with a right-turn only, toward Springboro Pike/Ohio 741, according to the city.

However, southbound Alex traffic will take East Dixie Drive, to right on Alex-Bell Road, and only non-commercial vehicles can turn right onto Kimberly.

The construction schedule is weather dependent and determined by the railroad, according to the city.
