C.J. Brown Reservoir: Fish around the sunken trees to catch crappies or bluegills. Crappies are biting on minnows and bluegills have been hitting red worms and waxworms. Crappies are also biting around the marina, but most are small. Walleye fishing has been good in the deep holes off of the beach and around the island near the dam. Jigging Vib-E’s has been the best method, although a few have been caught on crawler harnesses and Erie Dearies tipped with a night crawler. Catfish are biting all over on chicken liver and night crawlers. There will be a kids fishing tournament at C.J. on May 4 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sign up at Boathouse Bait, near the dam.
