QUESTION OF THE WEEK
Q: What is your prediction for signing pitchers Bronson Arroyo and Homer Bailey for next year? — TOM, KETTERING.
A: They won’t be able to sign them for just next year. Both are free agents and will want long term deals. Arroyo already has mentioned $40 for three years, which isn’t much more than his current contract. He is the staff’s anchor and we all know what ships do without anchors. Bailey is reaching his long-sought potential. I’m not one to tell Bob Castellini how to spend his hard-earned cabbage profits, but those are two pitchers any team would want on their staffs.
