Outlook: The Golden Eagles swept Brookville (30-7), Oakwood (31-14) and Monroe (45-13) to salvage a break-even 5-5 season and build momentum for this fall. They were 4-1 in the second half of 2012 with the only setback a 7-6 OT loss at Eaton. Two-way standout Alex Fryman is the real deal. Coach’s comments: As usual the first three weeks of the season are key. Miamisburg is very much improved and is a big challenge, Xenia showed improvement last season and also provides us with matchup problems, as well as Fairborn Week 3. These games give us a measuring stick for the season. Our league will be strong again this year. Franklin should have the most returning, but we feel we should be in the mix to compete for the league title. Young athletic team. Depth on the lines will be an area of concern. Offense has a number of experienced kids that we will be depending on early. If we can survive the first three weeks of the season vs. the larger schools we should be very competitive in the league.
