The Cincinnati Bengals will hold their first of two Family Night practices during training camp Thursday at Paul Brown Stadium, with the second one scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 11.
The Family Night practices are from 6-8, with gates opening at 5. There will be free admission and free parking in Lots D, E and F, all of which have entrances off Mehring Way near the stadium.
“Obviously with the other practices on the practice fields primarily being from 3-5, parents who are working during the day would have a hard time bringing their kids,” said Jeff Berding, Bengals director of sales and public affairs.
“We think it’s a neat way for parents to come down with their kids and see the team and have a nice free family night together,” Berding added. “There also will be a lot of attractive activities the kids will enjoy beyond just watching practice.”
Included in those activities are inflatables, face-painting, balloon artists, circus performers, photos with mascot Who Dey, a Ben-Gals cheer zone, a Play 60 activity zone and a crafts zone.
“There also will be a Bengals Kids Club booth where the first 1,000 kids will get a Bengals lunch box, a poster and be entered for a chance to win a free Kids Club membership,” Berding said.
The Family Nights will serve as Select-A-Seat events as well, where the seats available for season ticket sales will be tagged.
“I think people like the ability to pick seats while they’re watching practice because it gives you some sense of the vantage point during the game,” Berding said. “To watch practice people are going to want to sit in the lower level, but we will have sales representatives on other levels and throughout the building to answer questions.”
The night will conclude with an extended autograph session.
“Unlike the practice fields where Marvin designates by position the groups of players to sign autographs, at the two Family Nights it will be all of the players signing along the field wall,” Berding said.
