Who: Ohio State (3-0) vs. Florida A&M (1-2)
Where: Ohio Stadium
TV\Radio: Big Ten Network, 1410
Stat pack: OSU QB Braxton Miller 17-of-24 passing, 208 yards, 2 TDs, 1 int; QB Kenny Guiton 41-of-61, 449 yards, 7 TDs, 1 int; RB Jordan Hall 402 yards, 6.3 avg., 6 TDs; WR Devin Smith 13 catches, 256 yards, 3 TDs; WR Corey Brown 13 catches, 133 yards, 3 TDs.
FAMU QB Damien Fleming 31-of-64 passing, 383 yards, 2 TDs, 5 ints; RB Omari Albert 85 yards, 22 carries; WR Lennon Lenworth 14 catches, 229 yards, 1 TD.
Two better than one: The Buckeyes don’t have a quarterback controversy, they have a quarterback luxury. Miller set an OSU record for total offense last season, but Guiton threw for 276 yards and four TDs against Cal last week — 27 more yards passing than Miller’s single-game high.
If Miller, who is recovering from a sprained knee, is cleared to play, coach Urban Meyer planned to work both into the game.
Worth noting: The Buckeyes have scored 40, 42 and 52 points in their three games, the first time they’ve reached at least 40 three consecutive times since 2005.
They gained 332 yards on the ground against Cal, their fourth 300-yard rushing game out of 15 under Meyer. In the 10 years before he arrived, they topped 300 yards seven times.
Quick starts: The Buckeyes have scored at least 21 points in the first quarter each game and have out-scored foes, 68-14, in the opening period.
Aussie rules: Punter Cameron Johnston hasn’t shown a booming leg, but he’s delivering the ball in the right places. Opponents have zero return yards on his 11 punts, and his 41.6 net average is second in the Big Ten.
Famous alum: Former Cincinnati Bengal great Ken Riley is a Florida A&M product. He notched the fifth-most interceptions in NFL history with 65 during his career from 1969-83.
Quote: Speaking of the Rattler’s defense, Meyer said: “It’s 100 percent blitz. Every snap, they’re blitzing. And we’ve got to show up and play hard or we’ll look silly. When you get teams that blitz all the time, the last thing anyone in our stadium or I want to see is people in our backfield.”
Prediction: Ohio State 52, Florida A&M 7
