Greeneview High School senior basketball player Evan Bradds was named first team All-Ohio Division III on Tuesday by the Associated Press.
Tri-Village coach Josh Sagester and St. Henry coach Eric Rosenbeck shared D-IV coach of the year honors.
Bradds, a 6-foot-9, four-year starter, averaged 23.1 points in leading the Rams (20-4 overall) to the Ohio Heritage Conference championship (13-1). He surpassed his grandfather, Gary Bradds, to become Greeneview’s all-time career leading scorer.
Bradds has signed to play basketball at Belmont University in Nashville, Tenn.
Sagester led the Patriots to a 22-0 regular season and the Cross County Conference championship. Tri-Village (26-1) was beaten in a regional semifinal by Troy Christian, 48-43.
Under Rosenbeck, St. Henry (22-4 overall) tied Delphos St. John’s for the Midwest Athletic Conference championship (8-1). Sagester and Rosenbeck shared the D-IV coach of the year honor with Michael Bates of Columbus Africentric.
Second-team All-Ohio D-IV was loaded with area players Wade Gelhaus (Fort Recovery), Kyle Stahl (St. Henry) and Kyle Pipenger (Tri-Village).
Special mention choices were Kyle Ahrens of Versailles (D-III) and Grant Zawadzki of Troy Christian (D-IV).
Mr. Basketball will be announced by the AP today. All selections were made by a statewide media panel.
