High School Highlights for Sept. 21: Stivers wins DPS Tournament

The Stivers co-ed golf team won the Dayton Public Schools Tournament on Wednesday.

Loren Morland shot a 90 for Stivers, earning medalist honors for the girls. Bryan Wallbridge added an 89 and Nelson Stone had a 90.

Devin Wallace of Ponitz was the boys medalist after carding an 88.

Boys Golf

Alter 154, Bellbrook 219: Alter’s Jimmy Fink led the field with a 36 and Adam White and Jack Norman each added a 39.

Fairmont 331, Lebanon 354: Cameron Luczka and Luke VanLeeuwen each carded a 36 to lead Fairmont to a win in the Alexander Cup. Arthur Sweetman led Lebanon with a 40.

Mechanicsburg 158, Greeneview 160: Mechanicsburg’s Caleb Westfall earned medalist honors with a 37. Brayden Woods and Christian Phillips each had a 40 for Greeneview.

Oakwood 152, Valley View 187: Peyton Wheat fired off a 35 for Oakwood and Danny Johnsen, Charlie Mullen and Sam Lahmon each added a 39. Ben Herman led Valley View with a 40.

Piqua 161, Sidney 189: Jared Lindsay led Sidney with a 41.

Taylor 178, Ross 192: Cooper Shields shot a 47 and Tyler Stenger added a 48 for Ross.

Boys Soccer

Belmont 3, Dunbar 1: Herman Chongwain had 2 goals and Bruce Anthony added the third for Bellbrook. Elorm Dogbey knocked in Dunbar’s score.

Monroe 7, Franklin 0: Ryan Davis poured in 4 goals and an assist to lead Monroe.

Girls Soccer

Alter 4, Fenwick 2: Ashley Maples tallied 2 goals with 2 assists for Alter.

Carroll 4, Chaminade Julienne 0: Abby McNamara recorded 2 goals with an assist and Katie Scudder and Allie Stefanek added the other scores for Carroll.

Centerville 1, Springboro 1: Jessie Pulaski scored off a Julie Trouten assist to put Centerville on the board but Laurin Uptegrove netted the equalizer for Springboro.

Fairborn 5, Trotwood 0: Lauren Thomas scored 2 goals with an assist and Regan Diehl had a goal with 2 assists for Fairborn.

National Trail 3, Union County 3: Taylor Middleton, Rachel Ray and Davlyn Werner each had a goal for Trail.

Girls Tennis

Chaminade Julienne 3, Upper Arlington 2: Kelly Pleiman won 6-7 6-2 6-3 in the deciding match to give CJ the win.

Fairborn 5, Dixie 0: Brookyln Hunter and Kyle Secrest each had straight set wins for Fairborn.

Fairmont 3, Troy 2: Fairmont edged Troy in a meeting that featured 3 different 3-set matches.

Miami Valley 5, Kenton Ridge 0: The doubles teams of Vennela Vallabhaneni/Janine Quigley and Shraya Sandhir/Iman Quadri each had dominant wins for Miami Valley.

Miamisburg 4, Bellbrook 1: Miamisburg knocked off Bellbrook to improve to 8-1 in the month of September.

Preble Shawnee 4, Edgewood 0: The doubles team of Sidney Quillen and Jane Feck had a straight set win for Preble Shawnee.

Springfield 5, Tecumseh 0: Jenna Demeter, Amanda Dillon and Bella Gianakopoulos notched singles wins for Springfield.

Tippecanoe 3, Carroll 2: Jordan Jones picked up a singles victory and Tippecanoe swept the doubles matches for the win. Jillian Milano had a straight set win in first singles for Carroll.

Girls Volleyball

Troy 3, Fenwick 2: Camryn Moeller had 29 kills with 17 digs, Miranda Silcott added 10 kills with 13 digs and Katie Jackson had 30 assists with 5 digs for Troy.
