Starbucks expanding its footprint across Dayton’s suburbs

A new Starbucks has opened its doors on North Main Street (Ohio 48) just south of I-70 in Englewood, and the chain has multiple other projects in the works as it expands its footprint in the Dayton area.

The region’s newest Starbucks coffee shop and restaurant is located in an outlot in front of the Meijer store in the 9100 block of North Main St., adjacent to a free-standing Panera Bread Bakery & Cafe and next to a MOD Pizza restaurant that has not yet opened.

The coffee shop has been in the works since early 2015.

This news outlet reached out to Starbucks on Monday, Feb. 20 to obtain more information about the Seattle-based chain’s newest Dayton-area coffee shop, but has received no response.

The chain has been particularly active in the Dayton area of late: It is building a new store across from The Greene in Beavercreek, and has other new locations in the works in Washington Twp. and in Fairborn.

The Starbucks and MOD Pizza projects are “great additions to the I-70/Main Street corridor here in Englewood,” William Singer, the city’s director of community and economic development, said.
