Then & Now: Dayton's historic newspaper building

The daily newspaper's impact on city residents can be clearly seen in an undated photograph of the still-new building at Fourth and Ludlow streets that housed the Dayton Daily News.

A gathering for "news boys" for the Dayton and Springfield newspapers was held, seen now as an image of a large group of shirt-and-tie boys in front of the building that was completed in 1910.

The building is featured in today's update to the popular Then & Now photo series, which displays past and present images of some of Dayton's most notable locations.

The building's two sides facing Fourth and Ludlow streets, visible in the old gathering photo, look mostly the same on the white building. But development has changed the look around it.
