1. Wilmington Air Park was a finalist for the Amazon operation, but CVG was chosen instead. For more than a year, Amazon has been using the air park to operate an air-transport network with Air Transport Services Group for Prime Air.

2. CVG and Prime Air: CVG will serve as a centralized location for the fleet of Prime Air cargo planes. This fleet is made up 40 cargo planes, 16 of which are currently operating, according to the company.

3. Jobs impacted: Three hundred people will likely lose their jobs at the air park. The company said they plan to offer jobs at any Amazon site in the U.S. to their Wilmington employees.
4. New jobs at CVG: Mindy Kershner, airport spokeswoman, said the online retailer will create 2,700 new jobs and make a $1.49 billion investment. CVG will be leasing 900 acres to Amazon for their operation.

Ohio House Speaker Cliff Rosenberger responded strongly to the news: "To say I am disappointed by today's news from Amazon is an understatement — I have always been confident that the state of Ohio and the people of Clinton County have done everything in their power to make Wilmington an attractive and hospitable place for not only Amazon, but other companies as well."
