Findley does not appear to have legal issues in his past.
The Ohio Department of Education’s educator discipline website shows no prior professional conduct discipline records against Findley.
A search of Montgomery County court records revealed some civil court financial cases, including foreclosure filings, but no criminal issues involving Findley.

This news organization has requested a copy of Findley’s personnel file, but Dayton Public Schools has not yet made it available.
Serious charges
The charges Findley was arrested on this week are seven felony counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor and pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor.

One of the four pandering obscenity counts says that Findley did “direct or produce an obscene performance that has a minor as its participants.” The three counts of pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor also include language saying Findley “created, directed or produced” the performance.
The charges also accuse Findley of promoting the material for sale or dissemination on Aug. 8 or Aug. 9 of 2016.
What happened when?
The indictment says Findley created, directed or produced that obscene performance involving a minor between November 2015 and August 2016. It also accuses him of promoting the material for sale or dissemination on Aug. 8 or Aug. 9 of 2016.
Findley was a teacher at Stivers School for the Arts at that time, but it is not yet clear whether the minor or minors involved in the material were Stivers students.

Findley remained a teacher at Stivers for the 2016-17 school year, until the issue came to light. He was placed on paid leave April 18, according to David Romick, president of the teachers union at Dayton Public Schools.
Romick said the discipline process had not gone far when Findley resigned effective July 9. He was indicted Aug. 29 and arrested Tuesday.
