3 things to know about the newest Honda Accord made at Marysville

The 2018 model has a more streamlined look and Honda Sensing technology that includes safety features such as line departure warnings, adaptive cruise control and traffic sign recognition that allows the car to detect and read road signs like speed limits, according to Steve Rodriguez, Honda’s manufacturing leader for the Accord.

Here’s what this new model means for the plant:

Honda to add jobs. Honda will add 300 jobs and invest more than $260 million to support the newest Accord. About 1,400 workers from Clark and Champaign counties are employed at Honda.

In Marysville since 1982. The Honda Accord has been in continuous production at the Marysville Auto Plant since November 1982. The first version of the Accord was manufactured in Japan, however. All nine generations since have been produced in Marysville.

Hybrid coming to Marysville. The company will shift production of the hybrid Accord from Japan to the Marysville plant.
