That's the question one website has tried to answer. Niche.com has analyzed schools in the Dayton and Miami Valley area and ranked them by comparing reading and math proficiency percentages and the teacher to student ratio.

The first on the list of Dayton-area high schools is Centerville High School with a reading proficiency percentage of 98 and a math proficiency percentage of 95. The school has an 18:1 teacher to student ratio with a 97 percent graduation rate.

Oakwood High School came in second with a proficient reading percentage of 95 and a proficient math percentage of 95. The school has an 18:1 teacher to student ratio with a 95 percent graduation rate.

Bellbrook High School is ranked third with a reading proficiency percentage of 97 and a math proficiency percentage of 94. The teacher to student ratio is 19:1 with a 96 percent graduation rate.

Fourth on the list is Fairmont High School with a reading proficiency percentage of 93 and a math proficiency rating of 92. The school has an 18:1 teacher to student ratio with a 95 percent graduation rate.

Stivers School for the Arts is ranked fifth with a reading proficiency percentage of 83 and a math proficiency percentage of 75. The school has a 16:1 teacher to student ratio with a 92 percent graduation rate.
