Find out which Dayton streets will be repaved this year

The city of Dayton plans to nearly triple the amount of street paving it will do this year, after an injection of new money from an income tax increase voters approved in November.

The city will target streets that are in the worst condition based on the Pavement Condition Index, which is a measure that uses a scale of zero (worst) to 100 (best).

The residential streets that will be resurfaced this year have an average index score of 25.6.

Dayton voters in November approved Issue 9, which increased the city’s income tax to 2.5 percent from 2.25 percent, and which is expected to generate more than $11 million in additional annual income.

Using a portion of that money, the city plans this year to spend $5.5 million paving residential streets, thoroughfares and alleys. The city expects to pave 60 or more lane miles, depending on the bids it receives.
