Police: Narcan administered to driver following crash on W. Third St.

Dayton police are investigating the possibility of a man overdosing before crashing his car into a tree on West Third Street.

Medics transporting the driver reported by scanner traffic Narcan was administered to the driver while transporting him to the hospital. The driver was reportedly responsive following the use of Narcan.

Police on the scene confirmed the use of Narcan, but said it was unknown what substance the man used. His condition and the severity of injuries sustained was unknown.

West Third Street is blocked between Liscum Drive and Mia Avenue for traffic reconstruction units to investigate the crash.

FIRST REPORT

One person was briefly trapped inside a vehicle following a crash on West Third Street in Dayton.

Police and medics were dispatched to the area of West Third Street and Malden Avenue around 1:05 a.m. on reports of a car slamming into a tree.

First crews on the scene reported one person was trapped inside the vehicle, but has since been freed, according to scanner traffic.

It’s unknown if the driver suffered any injuries.
