Two structures that span the Great Miami River in downtown Dayton have been created for smooth-water and whitewater chutes to accommodate kayaks and canoes.

Construction of the first concrete and stone structure began in 2015 near the Dayton Art Institute, and the second one was completed in 2017 upstream near 2 River Place.
