WATCH: What do Dayton's two major bridge projects look like?

Two major bridge projects are continuing less than a mile apart in Dayton.

The Webster Street Bridge is nearing completion, and pylons for the new Helena Street Bridge are beginning to take shape near Island MetroPark.

These two bridges are the last on a list of other bridges in the city that have been rebuilt since 2006, including Washington Street, Findlay Street, Stewart Street, and Monument Avenue.

The new Webster Street Bridge cost $10.1 million and is replacing a 100-year-old bridge. The new bridge will have wider sidewalks and observation decks as well as enhanced lighting. The Webster Street Bridge is expected to be finished in late 2017.

The new Helena Street Bridge will cost approximately $6 million and replaces a bridge that stood for more than 90 years. The new bridge will include wider sidewalks and improved lighting with expected completion at the end of 2017.
