The Water Street District already offers 215 apartments, and 133 more are on the verge of opening in the Delco Lofts, which is the large former industrial building that sits next to Fifth Third Field.
Developers also are building 54 new apartments at the eastern edge of the residential district along the Mad River, which runs up against Webster Street.
The district’s office building is filled, and a hotel is expected to be constructed next door in what is today a small parking lot.
Crawford Hoying, one of the Water Street development partners, is also exploring buying and investing in the Grant Deneau Tower, located in another part of downtown, across from the Dayton Arcade.

The Water Street developers have already put their stamp on downtown, and more projects are on the way.
