West Chester approves 3-year contract for new administrator

The new West Chester Twp. administrator will earn $135,000 a year, drive a township-paid car and receive three weeks of paid vacation.

The trustees approved an initial three-year deal with Larry Burks, the current assistant city manager in Bellevue, Neb. He will be in the township Thursday to sign the agreement that takes effect Jan. 1.

West Chester Twp. Trustee Mark Welch said trustees surveyed like-sized townships in the region to use as a guide for the salary and terms.

“That salary is well within the range,” Welch said. “Providing a vehicle, it’s a perk, but (the former township administrator) had a vehicle that she used for business purposes only. It’s actually pretty standard.”

Longtime administrator Judi Boyko resigned in August to become the Hamilton County assistant administrator.
