Do you want to design this Dayton brewery’s next beer can?

The Dayton Beer Company and Five Rivers MetroParks are collaborating on a custom can-design contest for a beer to be called Trail Town Pale Ale, designed to celebrate Dayton's trail legacy as the "Outdoor Adventure Capital of the Midwest," Metroparks officials said.

The contest is also designed to celebrate and to raise money for the International Trails Symposium, described as the largest gathering of trail professionals in the world, which will be held in Dayton from May 7-10.

RiverScape to be complete with grand opening of River Run

Dayton Beer Company will donate $1 from each Trail Town beer sold on draught from May 5-9 to the trails symposium, and draught Trail Town beers sold after May 9 will benefit a local park system or trail project. The cans for retail sale will be unveiled in mid-to-late June.

The week-long celebration of Dayton’s biking, hiking and paddling trails kicks off May 5 with the RiverScape River Run Ribbon-Cutting and the Miami Valley Cycling Summit, as well as the unveiling of the winning Trail Town Pale Ale can design.
