You are going to have to wait a bit for your next adult beverage at a popular downtown bar and a Oregon District tavern known for its live music and juicy burgers.

The Century Bar, 10 S. Jefferson St. in the Fire Blocks District, and Blind Bob's, 430 E Fifth St., are both closed for renovations.

WHAT’S GOING ON AT THE CENTURY?

As we first reported, plans are underway for Century Bar's long-awaited speakeasy Kette's Kandies Spirited Treats.

As part of that project, Joseph Head, the bar's co-owner, announced in November that improvements would be made to the bar as well.

Head said bartender stations will be added, and that the Century’s 1950s sign will be replaced with something that better reflects the business’ current goals.

The bourbon bar is expected to reopen on January 12.

WHAT’S GOING ON AT BLIND BOB’S?

Nate Mendenhall of Blind Bob's said via Facebook message that the first part of the year is typically slow for his family's business, and therefore a good time to make repairs.

A concrete slab in the back of the house is being repaired, he said.
