The Dayton Daily News, WHIO-TV and News Talk Radio WHIO have launched a community service project to raise awareness about the growing prescription drug epidemic in our community. “Prescription for Pain” also examines how the escalating prescription drug abuse problem is fueling a rise in heroin addiction.

To study the effect prescription drug abuse and misuse is producing, WHIO-TV reporters interviewed those who have abused the drugs, former addicts, experts and law enforcement officers. Our 30-minute prime-time special aired Monday, Oct. 21.
