Of Grant, who was introduced by UD on Saturday at UD Arena, Rich Cambell wrote, “After a stint as an assistant in the NBA, Grant is returning to college coaching at Dayton. He has a record of 193-110 in nine seasons at Virginia Commonwealth and Alabama. He returns to his alma mater with three previous appearances in the NCAA Tournament on his resume. Grant is 50 years old.”

Former UD coach Archie Miller, now at Indiana was also on the list, with Harvard’s Tommy Amaker, Cincinnati’s Mick Cronin, Providence’s Ed Cooley, Southern California’s Andy Enfield, Texas Christian’s Jamie Dixon, Georgia Tech’s Josh Pastner, Maryland’s Mark Turgeon and Seton Hall’s Kevin Willard.
