Flowers, a sixth-round pick in 2014, was on the bubble to make the roster this year even with another spot opening due to the five-game suspension of Vontaze Burfict.

Flowers played in all 16 games as a rookie, mostly on special teams. He suffered a season-ending shoulder injury in the final preseason game in 2015 but returned to appear in all 16 games last year.
