Buckeyes vs. Wolverines could be type of game Woody and Bo would love

Ohio State and Michigan appear headed for a clash for all the Big Ten East marbles on the last Saturday of November.

If Pro Football Focus is correct, it could be just the type of contest Woody Hayes and Bo Schembechler loved when they were coaching in the rivalry during its heyday.

Why is that? Because per the site, the biggest weakness for the Wolverines and the Buckeyes is “quarterback” and “the passing game,” respectively.

If you told someone that about Michigan before the season, it might not be too surprising. The Wolverines are breaking in a new starting quarterback, and while Wilton Speight hasn’t been bad, he hasn’t been great, either, so far.

On the other hand, reigning Big Ten co-Offensive Player of the Week J.T. Barrett was viewed as Ohio State’s potential trump card as he comes back to take the reins as the full-time starter after sharing duties with Cardale Jones last season.

The Buckeyes have had their ups and downs moving the ball throught he air, though, a development that is attributable in some part (perhaps large) to an essentially all new receiving corps.

Both teams have plenty of time to improve before the 2016 edition of The Game, but there’s another indicator Nov. 26 could be an old-fashioned slugfest reminiscent of the 10-Year War between Woody and Bo.

Michigan and Ohio State are two of the hardest teams in the country to throw the ball against.

Prepare for a slobberknocker at the Horseshoe.
