Linebacker Jack Crain, defensive end Nick Surges and offensive tackle Ben Gauthier also were preseason all-league picks. Crain and Surges were second-team, all-league picks last season, while Gauthier was honorable mention all-league.
Dayton returns 12 starters from a team that finished 9-2 overall and 7-1 in the PFL. On Monday, the Flyers were picked to finish second in the PFL preseason poll.
Dayton opens the season Sept. 2 at Robert Morris. The Flyers’ home opener is Sept. 9 against Southeast Missouri.
