LSU offers elite Texas CB Erick Young

Sticking with an annual theme, LSU has dished out an offer to one of the best defensive backs in the country.

Texas 4-star cornerback  Erick Young picked up his offer from the Tigers on Wednesday evening from LSU defensive backs coach  Corey Raymond.

Young, a top-300 prospect in the Class of 2019, is ranked as the No. 22 cornerback in the country among rising juniors and the No. 33 overall recruit from the Lone Star State, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.

Young already boasts notable offers Florida State and Ohio State, among others.

The 6-foot-1, 195-pound Young is one of the nation’s fastest-rising junior defensive back prospects. His elite combination of both size and speed makes him an alluring recruit in Raymond’s secondary.

LSU has pulled several elite defensive backs out of neighboring Texas in recent recruiting cycles, including  Jamal AdamsKary Vincent Jr. and  Grant Delpit, to name a few.

The Tigers currently hold only one defensive back pledge in their 2019 recruiting class: 4-star Tennessee corner  Maurice Hampton Jr. LSU remains in strong positions with two in-state targets: 4-star  Derek Stingley Jr. and 4-star  Devin Bush.

Expect Young to make his way to Baton Rouge for an unofficial visit at some point in the fall. Stick with SEC Country for more reaction to the splash offer handed out.
