Report: Tennessee’s Jeremy Pruitt already has partial staff on board

Tennessee’s Jeremy Pruitt knows he doesn’t have any time to spare before hiring his staff.

The new Vols coach reportedly has several assistants in place already, according to ESPN’s Chris Low.

Jeremy Pruitt already putting together Tennessee staff. As reported by Volquest, USC passing game coordinator and QBs coach Tyson Helton will join him along with Colorado State OC/OL coach Will Friend, Colorado State DB coach Terry Fair and Tennessee RB coach Robert Gillespie.

That’s a solid group of assistants for Pruitt to build around. Tyson Helton has helped develop future first-round pick Sam Darnold, and Colorado State coach Will Friend has been a part of a very explosive staff led by Mike Bobo.

The brand-new early singing period begins on Dec. 20 and runs through Dec. 22, so Tennessee’s staff will have to work quickly to keep the Vols’ class together and potentially add new signees before the deadline.
