Sean Beckton, Troy Walters will reportedly join Scott Frost on Nebraska’s coaching staff

Nebraska football officially announced Scott Frost as its new head coach over the weekend, and it looks like the former Cornhusker will not be coming to Lincoln alone.

The Orlando Sentinel reported on Thursday that Central Florida’s Sean Beckton will join Nebraska’s coaching staff. Shortly thereafter, Ryan Bass of 10 News WTSP in Tampa Bay, Fla. reported that Beckton and Troy Walters are both expected to join Frost on Nebraska’s coaching staff. Beckton and Walters both served as Frost’s assistant coaches at UCF.

Walters joined UCF’s coaching staff in December 2015 and was the offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach for the Knights. Beckton filled several roles in his 18 seasons as a member of the UCF coaching staff, most recently serving as the tight ends coach and the recruiting coordinator.

Following Frost’s departure from UCF, Walters and Beckton were the only remaining assistants of the Knights’ staff.
