South Carolina DB Jamyest Williams named to SEC All Freshman team


South Carolina defensive back Jamyest Williams is being honored for his tremendous freshman season with the Gamecocks.

Williams was named to the SEC’s All-Freshman team Thursday afternoon. He was South Carolina’s lone representative on the list.

He finished the season with 38 tackles, fifth overall on the team, and four tackles for loss.

Williams joins tight end Hayden Hurst and linebacker Skai Moore as Gamecocks honored on All-SEC teams by the league’s head coaches.

South Carolina is slated to face Michigan in the Outback Bowl on Jan. 1, 2018. Kickoff is scheduled for 12 p.m. ET.
