Top JUCO DE recruit picks Arkansas over Texas A&M

Defensive end  Dorian Gerald signed with Arkansas on Friday evening. The Razorbacks beat out Texas A&M to land the top junior college strongside defensive end prospect in the 2018 class. He was also considered Florida and Louisville before narrowing his options earlier this week.

Gerald (6-foot-3, 260 pounds) is a South Carolina native who most recently played at College of the Canyons in California. He registered 96 tackles and 22 sacks in two seasons at the junior college.

Arkansas has now signed 17 players in the 2018 class, which is likely now complete. Gerald is the fourth defensive end signed in the class, joining Courtre Alexander, Nicholas Fulwider and Isaiah Nichols.

Gerald visited Arkansas for two days last week before heading to Florida over the weekend. He was initially set to sign Wednesday, but delayed his decision two days in a effort to be surrounded by his family.

Westerfield, a 6-foot-1 junior guard from Cincinnati, played two minutes in the first half and another minute...
