Dayton Flyers guard Kyle Davis day to day with ankle sprain

Archie Miller says senior probably won’t practice Monday

Dayton Flyers coach Archie Miller provided an update on senior guard Kyle Davis, who sprained his ankle Saturday in the second half of a 76-57 victory over Duquesne in Pittsburgh, on Monday in the weekly Atlantic 10 coaches teleconference.

“Kyle is day to day,” Miller said. “Right now, he’s off his feet. He probably won’t (practice) today. We’re going to take it by ear. By Thursday, we’ll see where he’s at. He’s got an ankle sprain and foot bruising. It’s not an easy thing to come back from, but if there’s anybody who’s going to try to get there, it’ll be him.”

Davis said on Twitter after the game he will be back the next game. The Flyers (13-4) play Richmond (11-6) at 7 p.m. Thursday at UD Arena. It's a big game because the Spiders sit alone in first place at 5-0. Dayton is tied for second at 4-1 with Virginia Commonwealth (14-4) and La Salle (10-5).
