On a day when it received a vote in the Associated Press Top 25 weekly poll for the first time in program history, the Wright State women’s basketball team saw its school-record tying 13-game losing streak come to a halt.

The Raiders dropped an 85-80 road decision to Detroit Mercy in Horizon League play.

Wright State (22-6, 14-2 HL) was led by junior guard Chelsea Welch, who scored a game-high 29 points and dished out six assists. Mackenzie Taylor added 17 points and Lexi Smith had a double-double (16 points, 11 rebounds).

Haleigh Ristovski scored 17 to lead four Detroit players in double figures. The Titans shot 52.4 percent for the game.
