He’s back again: The Cleveland Indians added utility man Michael Martinez to a minor league deal on Sunday. He was assigned to Triple-A Columbus.

Martinez is a major league journeyman, he most recently played for the Tampa Bay Rays. The Rays designated Martinez for assignment a week ago, and it didn’t take the 34-year-old long to find a new - or rather old - home.

This will be the third time Martinez has joined the Indians organization. He was on the team in 2015 and 2016. Cleveland traded him to Boston last July before re-acquiring him a month later.

Martinez has hit .194 over his career with the Indians, Phillies, Pirates, Red Sox and Rays. He was on the Indians’ postseason roster last year, and grounded out to the Cubs’ Kris Bryant to end Game 7 of the 2016 World Series.
